Bhavnagar has many tourist spots and Gaurishankar Lake is not to be missed. This lake is also known by the name Bor Talav and Bhavnagar Lake. This lake is located amidst hills and offers a picturesque view. People from the city come here often to spend an entire day as its a very popular picnic spot. The lake view is spectacular and also is a treat for bird watchers. The lake offers an opportunity to view some pelicans, geese, cranes, ducks, and waders especially during the summer months. Many events are organised at this lake which helps in increasing the popularity of this place.

Bhav Vilas Palace near Gaurishankar Lake, used to be the clubhouse of the royal family. Many official events were conducted here when Bhavnagar was princely state. However, now this palace is the official residence of Maharajkumar Shivbhadrasinhji Krishnakumarsinhji Gohil & his family. The view of the lake from the palace is breathtaking. There is also a boat house and you could enjoy boating in the lake.
